Cape & Kantary Hotels is now ready to open a new hotel called “Somewhere Koh Sichang”, located on the Island of Koh Sichang, Chonburi. The hotel offers comfortable accommodation and professional and warm service in an attractive location in Thailand to provide tourists with more alternatives. The hotel will open to guests in early May, 2016.
Somewhere Koh Sichang is a cosy hotel, decorated in colourful hues. It offers 20 air conditioned deluxe rooms. The rooms are also fully equipped with all modern amenities, for maximum comfort, such as LED TVs, a DVD player, private balcony, free Wi-Fi in the rooms and all public areas, and a security system with a key card. Visitors benefit from facilities such as a swimming pool, the Verandah Restaurant, a conference room which can accommodate up to 40 delegates, a bar, a reception and 24-hour security.
Travel Industry Group Director Poomiphat Navanukroh said, “I am confident in Somewhere Koh Sichang because Koh Sichang is different from other islands as it is unique and lovely, while the hotel is operated and managed by “Cape & Kantary Hotels”, a brand well-known among Thai and foreign tourists with almost 20 properties. “Cape & Kantary Hotels” guarantees our guests’ contentment with comfortable and spacious guest rooms, delicious food, supreme cleanliness, and warm but professional service in line with the established brand quality of “Cape & Kantary Hotels”. In this instance, we do not use brand-name “Cape” ,”Kantary” and “Kameo” as we have done before because we want to position this hotel as a “special and lovely” hotel, with its own character and location, which is Koh Sichang, a very unique island. Staying at this hotel and experiencing life on this island, guests will be enchanted and, in their minds, be transported to a paradise in the countryside. So we decided to call this hotel “Somewhere…” Moreover, Koh Sichang is not far from Bangkok. One can drive from Bangkok to Sriracha within one and a half hours and it only takes 45 minutes to go to Koh Sichang by ferry which sails every hour. It is a very convenient hotel to visit.
“The Island of Koh Sichang is a simple community. It is an old town on a small island, not a big island like Koh Samui, Koh Phuket or Koh Chang, where most people earn their living based on only the travel industry. Koh Sichang offers visitors many historic places to visit and many activities to enjoy. For example, Phra Chuthathut Ratchathan, the Royal Palace, built in the era of King Rama V; the Chao Pho Khao Yai Shrine; The Mondop (pavilion) atop Buddha's Footprint; Hat Tham Khao Phang, where visitors can enjoy swimming in the sea; coastal walks during which visitors can marvel at the sun-set at Chong Khao Khard; sight-seeing to many of the surrounding islands. Visitors may also tour the island by bike or enjoy the sight of corals at Koh Thaitamuen. I believe that these attractions will encourage visitors to come again.
Travelling to Koh Sichang
The distance between Bangkok and Koh Loy Pier, public transport link to Koh Sichang, Chonburi is about 100 kilometres and takes less than 1.5 hours. Visitors can take the Bangkok-Chonburi motorway, or the Buraphavithi (Bangna- Bangpakong) tollway. From Amphur Sri Racha, visitors can go to Koh Loy Pier and then to Jarin Pier for the ferry service to travel to Koh Sichang. The ferry service runs every hour and it takes about 45 minutes to travel to Koh Sichang Pier from Jarin Pier at Koh Loy Pier

“For the southern region, we have invested in the construction of a new resort in Koh Yao Noi, Phang-nga province. With its sea-side resort style, the hotel provides 60 resort rooms, on 16,000 square metres with an investment of around 500 million Baht. The hotel will come into service in the last quarter of 2016, or early 2017. The luxurious style of the hotel will blend well with the natural surroundings. Koh Yao Noi is similar to what Koh Samui and Koh Phuket were like in the past, as Koh Yao Noi allows visitors an easy exploration of the island where they can enjoy the view of the traditional countryside with buffaloes working in the field, and learn the way of life of local people.
“For the North-East region, there will be a new hotel called Kantary Hotel, Korat, under The Kantary Collection brand. The hotel, which will be ready to open in the last quarter of 2016, is located on Mitraphab Road, near The Mall Shopping Centre. The Hotel is equipped with 255 guest rooms at an estimated investment of 900 million Baht, offering service under the slogan “Luxurious Residential Style Hotel”.”
About Thailand’s tourists statistics:
According to Department of Tourism, Ministry of Tourism and Sports, there were about 8.94 million tourists who came to Thailand in the first quarter of this year with the growth rate of 14.3 % over last year. So, it is possible that the Thai travel industry can earn about 2.3 trillion Baht from more than 32.5 million tourists. Given that Chonburi is already a tourist destination in Thailand’s eastern region, Cape and Kantary Hotel’s new resort on Koh Sichang will be able to welcome and accommodate more visitors, both Thai and foreign.
